How do we build a future where every young person is on a path to learn and love to read, and thrive in school and beyond?

WHO IS THE HOST?

Literacy & Justice for All: Oakland Literacy Symposium is Oakland Literacy Coalition's inaugural conference that aims to break down barriers, highlight best practices, and elevate local solutions.

WHO IS INVITED?

Educators, non-profit providers, community leaders, and parents are encouraged to attend.

WHEN WAS IT?: OCT 1 -2

Stay on the lookout for next year's event and register yourself or your organization! Oakland teachers and school staff will be able to register with a 50% discount. OLC members will receive two free tickets.

WELCOME HAPPY HOUR

We had a blast! Symposium speakers & attendees gathered at a kickoff event with an in-person happy hour on Thursday, September 30th, 5:30-7:30pm at Kingston 11!

ABOUT THE OLC

Through networking and convening, the Oakland Literacy Coalition (OLC) builds connections and closes the gap between individuals and entities, creating a united, community-powered, effort toward improving literacy for Oakland students.

Through our annual Symposium, we strive to create an environment where together we can learn, strategize, elevate, and collaborate in order to empower Oakland learners of all ages with the literacy skills that set them on the path to success.
